What’s for Dinner Wednesday

Aside

Days like today I ask myself why I chose Wednesday to ask you guys what you’re eating. I mean, who really wants to cook midweek? Most people are just waiting for Friday to come along, so they can relax and have a few days to…well, do housework. ;)

I actually started this back in 2003 when I was a host of a parenting board. I can’t remember why I started it Wednesday way back then either! Catchy name maybe? HA! Ok, enough rambling.

What’s for dinner?

Today I’m in sloth mode. I woke up not wanting to do much. I have the oven baking my son some homemade beef jerky, and am not even slightly interested in cooking. Soooo I’m having leftover lentil soup with orzo.

Lentil soup

The recipe I used is Here. I added 1/2 a box of orzo at the end, as I saw my greek friend Kitoula added in her soup recipe. For the vinegar at the end, I added balsamic vinegar.

As for the jerky, it’s happily baking along. :)

A Pound of Deep Fried Bacon

Sometimes even we, The Hungry Dudes, are mesmerized by a dish.  Tony’s I-75 Restaurant is famous for its huge portions.  A side of bacon, being admired here by Henry, is one pound AND deep fried.

Is it the best breakfast you’ll ever have? No, but it is one hell of a cool presentation.  And, ordering one breakfast special (eggs, hash browns, bacon, and homemade toast) was enough for three of us.

Aside

Long day? It seems like one over here. Working all day and then coming home, taking care of the kids, and making dinner. Now to sit back, relax and eat. Wait..no, I have to blog really fast. Hi everyone!

What’s for dinner?

I’m making this short and sweet today. I mean, c’mon, who’s here for the conversation, right? Show us the food!

one one oh.

I made vegetable lo mein and grilled some marinated salmon. I doubled the batch of lo mein and marinated some of the salmon with a little of the sauce. It was my first time making it as my husband is on a no meats – no sweets fast, and he really liked it. Want the recipe? Here ya go.

So…what’s on your plate tonight?
