Way back in June, we threw a barbecue at my house. It was a necessity really. Piles of spice rubs, liquor, and ice cream had inundated my home, so they needed to be used properly.
Close to 40 pounds of meat was grilled. Of course, everything had a proper dry rub applied the night before with rubs from Milford Spice, Wine Country Chef, and Sourpuss The grill was at capacity for a good portion of the day. If I had the disposable income, I’d invest in a Napoleon – maybe next year…
Games were played. Plenty of Michigan beer was consumed. Graeter’s ice cream finished the night. Six flavors (Butter Pecan, Vanilla, Strawberry, Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Mocha Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip) were sampled. Butter Pecan was the favorite, although all were liked.
Summer is quickly running away. Yes, it’s sad, I know. Next year we’d like to have more BBQs with more people and more meat. Of course, about four weeks from now football will be in full swing. That means TAILGATING. More grilling!
Comment with your favorite tailgating spot and/or recipe for a chance to tailgate with The Hungry Dudes this coming fall.
