Guatemalan restaurants in Southeast Michigan.   Their specialty, as the name suggests, is pollo (chicken), specifically fried chicken.  And yes, their fried chicken is delightful, however, I enjoyed their tamale much, much more.  Rather than a corn husk, these tamales are cooked in a banana leaf, which imparts a subtle banana flavor to the masa.  Pulled dark meat chicken & spices round out what has to be the best tamale I’ve had.  Sweet, spicy, & savory - this tamale has to be tried.
