In honor of Valentine’s Day and all you lovebirds out there, the signature restaurants at the MGM Grand Detroit will be offering Prix Fixe menus at special prices.
We had the incredible pleasure of sampling a couple of the special Valentine’s Day dishes at Michael Mina’s Saltwater.
The $65 per person four-course tasting menu includes an amuse bouche and dessert as well as:
· Appetizer: Laughing Bird Shrimp with grits, cheddar and japlapeño biscuit

An upscale take on the Southern classic, Anson Mills organic heirloom grits form a buttery, luscious foundation for the delightfully sweet shrimp.
· Entree: Medallions of tuna and foie gras with potato cake and pinot noir jus

A lesson in visual, textural, and flavor layering, decadent foie gras sits atop perfectly seared rare tuna, and a crunchy potato cake. The pinot noir jus brings everything together with its subtle fruitiness.
If all seafood isn’t your thing, Bourbon Steak will be offering a prix-fixe menu as well.
Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak will have a $65, per person, four-course tasting menu with an optional $45 wine-pairing package. The menu includes:
· Amuse: Dungeness Crab with an avacado-yuzu puree, green apple and masago arare
· First Course: Thai Lobster Bisque with lobster knuckle, root vegetable and coconut milk
· Second Course: American Kobe Eye of the Rib Eye with Yorkshire Pudding, haricots verts, foie gras and red wine jus
· Third Course: Chocolate Mousse with raspberry gastrique and Nutella ice cream
Prix Fixe menus will be available Saturday (2/12) and Monday (2/14).
Restaurant of the Day: Bourbon Steak
Fried chicken holds a special place in my heart, but duck fat fried chicken (by TheHungryDudes) at Bourbon Steak is ridiculous. Crisp skin, moist meat, and so lip smackingly luscious that you’ll forget there’s anything wrong with the world.

#280 Valrhona Chocolate Pudding (by TheHungryDudes)
Brownie, streusel, & whipped cream
Not your run of the mill Jello pudding, this is a complex, sumptuous dessert. Not overly sweet with a slight fruitiness and a strong, bitter finish.
