Restaurant of the Day: Mae’s

Nestled away on the Woodward in the little town of Pleasant Ridge is Mae’s, a diner run by Sean and Jessica McCarthy.  Focused on made from scratch dishes and spotlighting local products, the McCarthy’s are running a true neighborhood diner.

One of their signature items in the Bacon Deluxe Butter Burger (by TheHungryDudes).  A decadent, luscious burger covered in cheddar cheese topped with crispy bacon, an onion ring, mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise. Oh, and the bun is buttered, too.

#289 Crab Cake Benedict (by JoeFoodie)

Toasted english muffin, meaty crab cake, poached egg, house made hollandaise, and a touch of sriacha.

The flaky, sweet crab meat works perfectly with the rich hollandaise and egg yolk.  The sriacha is a great choice to cut the richness and add another layer of flavor.
